Eligibility Criteria

A Candidate who has passed the two years Pre-University Examination conducted by the Pre-University Education Board in the state of Karnataka or any other examination considered as equivalent thereto by Mangalore University is eligible for admission to these programmes.

Subjects of Study

Subjects of study shall comprise the following

Group – I : LANGUAGES:

The candidate shall opt for General and Communicative English as compulsory subject and one of the languages listed below:
Kannada, Sanskrit, Hindi

GROUP – II : OPTIONAL SUBJECTS

A candidate shall ordinarily opt for any three Arts subjects for B.A. degree and any three Science subjects for B.Sc degree subject to existing combinations.

i) Arts Subjects: (subject to existing combinations)

Languages: Kannada, English

Compulsory Papers: Kannada Major Paper -1, Kannada Major Paper -2, History Paper -1, History Paper -2

ii) B.C.A. subjects: (Subject to existing combinations)

Languages: Kannada, English

Compulsory Papers: Programming in C, Fundamentals of Computers, Mathematical Foundation, Database Management System, Object Oriented Concepts using Java, Discrete Mathematical Structures, Data Structures using C, C# and DOT NET Framework, Operating Systems Concepts, Python Programming, Computer Multimedia and Animation, Computer Communication and Networks, Internet Technologies, Statistical Computing and R Programming, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Applications, PHP and MySQL, Project Work

iii) Commerce Subjects:

Languages: Kannada, English

Compulsory Papers : Principles of Management, Economics, Financial Accounting, Business Law, Financial Management, Business Statistics, Banking, Business Taxation, Cost and Management Accounting, Auditing, International Trade.

Group III:

i) Skill Enhancement Courses:

Artificial Intelligence

Financial Education and Investment Awareness as a Enhancement Course

ii) Ability Enhancement Compulsory Course

Environmental Studies

Constitution of India Syllabus

iii) Interdisciplinary Subjects:

An interdisciplinary subject which a student opts for shall be other than those studied under optional.
